FYI, 'Voilah' isn't a French word
The Voilah! French Festival is an annual countrywide event which promotes French creativity and innovation in culture, science, arts and gastronomy. From 8th April to 21st May, more than 40 events will be held under the theme of “France imagines, France innovates”.
10 Years of Dancing
Voilah! 2017 features a special visual identity this year created by Lime Agency. This is a first for this event; prior to this year's festival, the logo below was used for all previous festivals. This Voilah! French Festival logo is still used, but this year's identity takes centrestage.

I can understand the need for a more modern look (like the one which is used this year). This logo is fairly complicated and lacks a focal point. The funky font, while in harmony with the logo, can be hard to read from a distance (the 'v' in festival, for example).
However, the good thing about this logo is that it highlights the Lah in Voilah! as an intentional misspelling of Voilà. A great way to mix French and our beloved Singlish.
Urgent Lah!
Voilah! 2017's visual identity is made up of clean typography in playful arrangements and stripe patterns. Very trendy, and very well executed.

Did you see that? Look at the pictures and see if you could spot the difference between the previous image and those above it.
'Last Chance' is highlighted in red instead of blue, to show urgency in ordering food before order applications close. Brilliant!
Wordplay
This year's identity has a striped background of blue and red, which makes it difficult to use different colours for 'Voilah' to be seen as 'Voi lah'. Hence, 'lah' is put under 'voi' to make that distinction. It's not as clear as the official logo, but a good attempt nonetheless. This arrangement of words is also used in applications.

This arrangement is clever because it adds flavour to a trendy (hence bland and boring) geomatric font.
